Let’s work together for equal opportunity – Ban Ki-moon

ban-ki-moonThe United Nations (UN) Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, has called for global collaboration in the fight for equal opportunity, justice and sustainable development for people of African descent, saying Africa’s influence and legacy are obvious.

As part of activities marking this year’s International Day of remembrance for the victims of Slavery and Transatlantic Slave Trade day, the screening of the film, ‘Queen Nanny: Legendary Maroon Chieftainess’, a Poster Exhibition on ‘Africans in India: From Slaves to Generals and Rulers’; briefing and quiz on the ‘The Ark of Return’; and a WebEx interlink with students in Accra and Nairobi, recently held at Southfield Academy, Bariga Lagos.
