Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has felicitated with the Muslim Umma on the successful completion of the Ramadan, urging Muslim faithful to be peaceful while celebrating this year’s Eid-el Fitr.

He reminded them of the directives of the President General Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs and Sultan of Sokoto, Mohammed Abubakar III, that all Muslims should suspend congregational Eid prayers and pray at home.

According to a statement yesterday by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dan Manjang, the Sultan further directed that where prayers must be observed in mosques, they should abide by the regulation of not more than 50 persons.

The statement reiterated that hand washing, the use of sanitisers, social distancing and the operation of tricycles have been banned for Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2020.

It further added that in line with the existing government orders, all the recreational centres across the state would remain closed, saying that security agencies had been directed to enforce the restrictions.
