Lalong urges NASRDA to come up with recommendations to aid Nigeria

Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong has challenged the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) to come up with recommendations that will aid the country in its quest for space development and nuclear technology.

Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong has challenged the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) to come up with recommendations that will aid the country in its quest for space development and nuclear technology.Lalong threw the challenge when the Director-General of the agency, Saidu Mohammed, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, RayField, Jos.

NASRDA, which was established in the country for the purpose of research development in space science and technology to help Nigerians understand and manage their environment and natural resources using space acquired information, the governor, while appreciating them for the visit, stressed that the challenge of research is overwhelming given the country’s level of technological development, but believing that with time, Nigeria will improve.

Lalong, represented by his Deputy, Sonni Tyoden, thanked the management of NASRDA for establishing the centre for Remote Sensing in Plateau as well as a laboratory located in Langtang for research purposes.Earlier, Mohammed, said that the agency is committed to the development of space programme which has the capacity to contribute to the gross domestic product of Nigeria.
