Lalong condoles with traders as fire guts Jos market

Spokesman of Plateau State Police Command, Matthias Tyopev, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident.He said: “For now, we can’t estimate the total amount lost because so many people’s goods were involved; and the fire incident was very severe.”

Condoling with the affected traders, the Governor, Simon Lalong, through the state Commissioner of Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, described the incident as unfortunate, coming at a time “the state is on the path of recovery from recent challenges.”He said: “The government remains committed to its sacred responsibility of the protection of lives and property,” urging citizens to observe safety precautions at all times.
