Lagos seeks partnership on affordable housing

Lagos State Government will continue to partner with stakeholders in the provision of affordable housing for residents, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Housing, Mrs. Toke Benson Awoyinka has said.

Lagos State Government will continue to partner with stakeholders in the provision of affordable housing for residents, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Housing, Mrs. Toke Benson Awoyinka has said.

Awoyinka, who disclosed this at the 14th general meeting of the Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC), said the state government is looking within and without to see how to ensure residents have access to affordable housing.

She also said the state government would be increasing its stake in the company, as its major shareholder in order to continue to leverage its capacity to provide affordable housing for the people.

The Board Chairman, Mr. Adesina Soyebo said new capital base will enable the mortgage bank to be a major player in the mortgage sub-sector.

The Managing Director, Mrs. Folashade Folivi said LBIC in the past three years have continued on a path of growth despite the challenging environment.
