Lagos Residents Protest Over Power Outage
AGGRIEVED residents of Banire–Oludipe streets in Surulere Local Government Area of Lagos State recently embarked on a peaceful protest against the deplorable services of electricity supply from the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKDC) in the area.
Speaking to newsmen, Chairman of the Banire Oludipe Street Landlords and Tenants Association (BOLSTA), Mr Segun Ayodele, accused the electricity distribution company of being insensitivity to the plights of the residents.
Another resident, Miss Nwaka George, lamented that the power situation in the area has affected many businesses, adding that it was “ unfortunate for the EKDC to be collecting money for services not rendered.”
