The Lagos Isolation Centre, Onikan, has been equipped with power systems and information and technology equipment to help in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The items, donated by Inlaks, an integrated technology solutions provider in sub-Saharan Africa, included two units of 30KVA Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) as well as a multimedia digital screen.

The firm said that the donation was done in recognition of its long-standing relationship with GTBank as a trusted business partner to provide clean and uninterrupted power for medical equipment at the isolation centre.

Besides, the firm provided a multimedia digital screen to further aid widespread public sensitisation and awareness creation.

Inlaks Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, African Operations, Femi Adeoti, commended the efforts of governments, health workers and international bodies in the face of the situation, saying: “We are keen to contribute our resources to the collective effort that will ensure swift and effective response to the pandemic.”

Meanwhile, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, yesterday presented three locally-made motorised modular fumigators to Lagos State Government as contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The monarch also handed over a large size drone sprinkler to the state meant for aerial fumigation purposes.

The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, expressed appreciation to the royal father, describing him as an enabler and a notable part of governance in Nigeria.

He said: “Thank you your majesty for showing our people the can do spirit. You are a critical part of governance because you are one of our traditional institutions.

“I want to commend you for using your office as an institution to let our people know that what we are going through is real and it is not something that anybody has conjured, but something we can come together and solve collectively.”
