Ladoja vows to challenge judgment over polls at S’Court

DISSATISFIED with the ruling of the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, the governorship candidate of the Accord Party (AP) in Oyo State in the April 11, 2015 election, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, has said he would challenge the judgment of the court at Supreme Court.

The Appeal Court had on Thursday, December 17, 2015, dismissed an appeal filed by Ladoja and the Accord Party (AP) challenging the victory of Governor Ajimobi.

The five-man panel of the Court of Appeal headed by Justice H.M. Ogunjimiju, had in a unanimous decision upheld the verdict of the lower tribunal.

Senator Ladoja, while speaking with some journalists on the state of the nation at his Bodija home in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, said his resolve to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate’s victory at the court would help to deepen democracy in Oyo State.

He said: “My hope and chance of victory is 100 per cent intact in the Supreme Court, and I believe they will save our democracy and help to deepen it with their judgment. The Court of Appeal’s verdict is a miscarriage of justice.”

On why he is heading to the Supreme Court, Ladoja said: “The people of Oyo State strongly believe in me and that is why they voted for me massively during the election. It is my mandate and that of the people of Oyo that was stolen and we must reclaim it no matter how long it takes. The Supreme Court is our last resort, thereafter, we will hand everything to God.”
