Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has said that the senator representing Kano Central, Musa Kwankwaso, may be expelled from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for ignoring the invitation extended to him by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led reconciliation committee.

Illiyasu Kwankwaso stated that the party is considering stiffer disciplinary action against the senator for deliberately shunning President Muhammadu Buhari and some of the bigwigs in the party.

The commissioner, a cousin to the senator, who spoke with journalists yesterday in Kano, said that Kwankwaso was invited by the Tinubu’s committee to Governor Ganduje’s daughter’s wedding strategically to quash the burning crisis between him and the governor but Kwankwaso chooses to shun the meeting, an impression that the senator was not ready for settlement.

The commissioner said: “For now, we are fully convinced that Kwankwaso was not ready for reconciliation. After several attempts, his (Kwankwaso) non-chalant attitude has clearly shown he is no longer an APC member because apart from refusing to honour our invitations, he has since chosen to go with Obasanjo Coalition. Tinubu committee sent him invitation to attend Ganduje’s daughter’s wedding purposely to reconcile the aggrieved two parties, but he ignored it. For that alone, I can assure you he may be on his way out of the party.”

Illiyasu Kwankwaso said that whether Senator Kwankwaso and his cohorts like it or not, Ganduje and President Buhari would not only contest but also win the 2019 elections.

He said: “It is not about Buhari deciding to contest or not, but it is a binding position taken by party members and the generality of Nigerians that he must contest. So, by implications, what I’m saying is that his second coming is a done deal because we have all endorsed him.”
