PDPKOGI State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured its aspirants that the governorship primaries would be very transparent, adding that who ever wins the ticket will be the flag bearer

State PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bode Ogunmola who spoke to The Guardian in Lokoja maintained that the PDP would not print one form as it was done for Jonathan, however, insisting that there would be level playing ground for every aspirant.

Ogunmola stated that the PDP is on a solid footing to win the November 21st governorship polls.

“I agree that we made some mistakes of impunity, imposition of candidates in the past. However, we have learnt our lessons in very bad way very hard lessons.

“This time around, impunities are over. We will sit down together, we will follow the guidelines and we will go through the primaries and anybody who picks the ticket will fly the party’s flag.”

The Secretary said the mistake they made at the federal level that cost them to lose the leadership of the country would not happen again.

According to Ogunmola, “We would not go through that route again. This is a PDP State we are going to get our acts right and by God’s grace we will remain in Lugard House as PDP.

On the controversy that trailed the ward congress, he said‎ the issues were the party did a congress whether rightly or wrongly and the national headquarters canceled it. Another one was conducted and they personally came to supervise it and they said they were satisfied with the congresses.

“Like I said this time around with the new executive members on board, whatever we do as a party we will follow the guidelines, whatever that is written in the books that is what we will follow.
He said they would be as transparent as possible so that whatever they come out with would be credible for everybody to challenge it.

Ogunmola also indicated that for the APC to have majority at the federal House of Representatives now is temporal because the PDP would take over all the seats.

“Everybody was aware that there were no primary elections in Kogi State APC. They did not hold any primaries and we are in the tribunal and we are certain that with that alone the candidates they have are unlawful and we are going to take all the seats.
He cited ‎one of the recent judgments in Edo State that stated that if a candidate did not come up properly it means that party has no candidate.

He said it was in the tribunal judgment adding that with that judgment they are very comfortable.
He said candidates are expected to go through the primaries adding that INEC was supposed to observe every party’s primary.
