Kebbi State ANRP guber hopeful withdraws from race, backs APC
Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) gubernatorial candidate in Kebbi State, Alhaji Mustaph Yauri, has withdrawn from the governorship race.
Addressing newsmen shortly after a closed-door meeting with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials yesterday at the commission’s office in Birnin Kebbi, he urged his supporters to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Yauri, who claimed to have consulted stakeholders before his withdrawal, said the performance of APC governments in the state and the federal level influenced his decision.
His words: “I decided to join APC because of the achievements of the present administration in the state and that of President Muhammadu Buhari, such as the construction of roads from Jega, Koko, Yauri and Kotangora, while Atiku Bagudu has also constructed Yauri township road, empowering youths through the agriculture sector.”
He urged his supporters to support the present administration in the state to ensure efficient service delivery to the electorate.
