The Chairman, Kebbi State People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Alkali Aliyu Galadima has asked the state government to publish list of beneficiaries of the N17b Anchor Borrowers Programme loan, which was launched in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Chairman, Kebbi State People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Alkali Aliyu Galadima has asked the state government to publish list of beneficiaries of the N17b Anchor Borrowers Programme loan, which was launched in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Making the call, yesterday, at a press conference in Birnin Kebbi, Galadima said there was need for Kebbi State Government to publish the names of beneficiaries and stop the planned recovery of loan from the account of the local government councils.

He equally urged the government to launch a full-scale investigation into the implementation of the programme, to ascertain the true beneficiaries and those who fraudulently diverted the money, while taking steps to recover monies embezzled.

According to him, huge positive impact would have been made with proper planning, had the money been properly channelled to genuine farmers.“But now that repayment has stalled, government has begun to blame phantom beneficiaries of the Anchor Borrowers’ loan for not honouring their obligations, when in reality, they did not even received the loan,” he said.

Responding, the Public Relations Officer, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Sani Dododo who said he was in Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajji, denied the allegations, describing it as false and baseless.
