Kebbi State Police Command has arrested suspected kidnappers and rescued two of their victims.

Parading the suspects before newsmen at the Command’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mustapha Suleiman, said the command swung into action after receiving a report from the victim’s father that Ekene Christopher, 10 and Chizara Nwori, 11 had been kidnapped.

Both were rescued unhurt at Dadin Kowa area in Niger State.

According to the police, the father said his son was kidnapped while returning from Anglican Church in Birnin kebbi and was held captive for five days.

“On November 5, a hidden number called the victim’s mother, Mrs. Angella Christopher, with a view to negotiating for a ransom. He demanded for N2,500, 000 before the child could be released,” he added.

According to him, the principal suspect Chibuka Njoko, was arrested along side Emmanuel Nwonko, Sunday Oche, Mohammad Suleman, Taiye Olenju, Obinna Ogu and Sera Ibrahim.

DSP Mustapha called on the public to report to police any suspicious character around them, saying that is the only way to help the police reduce crime in the state.
