Kajuru indigenes lament marginalisation, injustice

The people of Kajuru community in Kaduna State have again protested alleged marginalisation by the Government, despite the terror unleashed on them by Fulani herdsmen.

The people of Adara in Kajuru Local Government of Kaduna State said they still lived in fear amid the calamities and alleged marginalisation through government policies.

They, therefore, condemned the numerous acts of “administrative injustice, imported criminality, multiple organised and barbaric attacks and abductions of helpless community members by Fulani terrorists and their collaborators.”

A press statement by the President of Adara Development Association (ADA) Mr. Awemi Dio Maisaamari said: “The Adara nation still lives in fresh, vivid and painful memories of the tragic, hitherto unthinkable and forever unjustifiable chain of calamities that befell her innocent, peaceful and submissive citizens in the past months…

“We consider it shocking that our helpless community could be subjected to these horrors, when it was still reeling in the agony of the abduction and assassination of His Royal Highness Agom Adara, the scraping of Adara Chiefdom and the malicious imprisonment of her remaining community leaders.”

The people urged the state government to grant it audience to discuss ways of finding amicable and lasting solutions to the problems.

The aggrieved community also appealed to the Federal and Kaduna State governments “to show sincerity of purpose and impartiality in addressing the concerns of Adara community in particular and Nigerians in general.”

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, declared that his administration, in partnership with the country’s allies, would not relent until terrorists operating in the country and its surroundings were completely decimated.

Buhari made the pledge during the graduation of 207 students of Senior Course 41 of the Armed Force Command Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji, Kaduna State.
