Kaduna State Government says it plans to build Media City in the State

The Kaduna State Government says it plans to build a Media City in the state.

Gov. Nasir El-Rufa’i stated this while speaking with newsmen shortly after he received a delegation from the Kannywood United Front, led by the Chairman, Dr Ahmad Sarari on a courtesy visit, at the Government on Monday.

El-Rufai said the state government will continue to support the growth of the entertainment industry.

“They have requested for a piece of land to build theatre and studio and we are going to grant them the piece of land,” he said.

According to him, government will also work towards assisting them to access Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) creative industry facility so that they can develop their structures.

“We believe strongly in the power of creative industry, not only in providing job opportunities for our young people but also to promote our culture and tradition not only in Nigeria but also across the Africa.

“We will do whatever we can encourage and support them,” he said.

On his part, Sarari who led the delegation said they were at the Government House to congratulate the governor on his victory at the poll.

“We are also here on a mission to request for a piece of land to build a cinema and a skills acquisition center in the state.

“We also requested the governor to intervene in the ongoing crisis regarding the intervention fund from the CBN for creative industry, “he said.

He said the CBN’s conditions for accessing the facility are too stringent for the group and at the long run non of its members can be able to access it.

“So we decided to come to the governor to intervene to ensure that the people in this part of the country benefit from such intervention fund, “he said.
