The Youth Movement for Credibility (YMC) has said that the refusal of representative of Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani to join Governor Nasir el-Rufai in his anti-people policies was responsible for the recall moves against him.

The group whose members are drawn from seven council areas of Kaduna Central at a press conference in Kaduna declared their support for Sani.

Its coordinator, Mustapha Aliyu, urged the senator to be unrelenting in fighting the ills in Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.

Besides, the group alleged that Governor El-Rufai administration has plunged the state into several crises since he assumed office in a bid to become the emperor of the state politics.

His words: “What we are seeing today is Sani’s insistence on not joining Nasir El-Rufai in impoverishing Kaduna State. It is no secret that since El-Rufai became governor, he has plunged the state into one crisis or another in his bid to become the emperor of Kaduna politics.

“Our attention has been drawn to the new vindictive and fraudulent recall process being orchestrated by the so-called Concerned Kaduna Central Indigenes through one Aliyu Sa’idu Dan Baturiya. It was sponsored against Sani.”

Aliyu stated that it was no longer news that the latest round of drama was the culmination of the frosty relationship between the governor and the fearless senator.

“We are worried about this embarrassing scenario in our dear state, particularly against our senatorial zone.  Yet, looking into the situation from a dispassionate view, one is bound to ask–what actually is Sani’s sin?

The group also stated that right from days of his activism and now, Sani had always insisted on not only good governance of Kaduna State but Nigeria in general.

“He had on different occasions championed anti-corruption campaigns, as reflected in his sponsored bills and motions at the Senate. What we are seeing today is Sani’s insistence not to join El-Rufai in impoverishing Kaduna State,” the group insisted.
