Kaduna Establishes Forensic Laboratory For Crimes, Terrorism
As part of efforts to curb criminal activities in Kaduna State, the Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, yesterday announced the establishment of forensic laboratory to enhance the investigative capacity of law enforcement agencies.
The outfit, he said would be under the control of operation Yaki, the state’s security outfit. Addressing residents at the first town hall meeting at the instance of the government, El-Rufai said a comprehensive security plan has been designed for Southern Kaduna, Birnin-Gwari and Giwa axis to end attacks in the areas.
He also pointed out that Kaduna State was working with Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi and Niger States to design a collective approach to common security challenges along the forest that border the respective states.
El-Rufai said that President Muhammadu Buhari has been briefed and updated on the security challenges in state, while stressing that the President has pledged federal government’s support for the comprehensive security plan.
“Interstate cooperation: Kaduna State is working with Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi and Niger States to design a collective approach to common security challenges in the forest ranges that strides our respective States.
A meeting is being held today with the respective State Governors and Security Agencies to advance the implementation of this initiative” The governor reiterated that during his campaign, he promised to engage and interact with the public regularly.
“ Here we are before you today to do as we pledged. As we have started, so we intend to continue, always striving to get better at achieving results” On transportation, El-Rufai said: “Our multi layer transport architecture will be executed.
That includes preparations, studies and projects to put in place: The new cab scheme and expanding to Zaria and Kafanchan, a BRT system for mass transit starting with Kaduna, a major project to establish Kaduna-Zaria light rail system between Shika and through the Kaduna Metropolis and up to the Refinery, new bus and truck terminals in Kaduna, Tafa, Mararaban Jos and Zaria”
