Youths of Delta Central Senatorial district have endorsed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term, citing equity, mutual respect and the need to sustain development in the state.

At a meeting attended by selected youths from electoral units in the district, the Delta Central Equity Group led by Moriss Idionwa, they restated their commitment to peaceful elections, saying they would resist any form of electoral malpractice.

Speaking at the event, former governor James Ibori, who addressed the youths in Urhobo language, said in the true spirit of oneness, Governor Okowa deserves two terms as has been experienced by previous governors who were elected based on rotation principle.

Responding, Okowa noted that his endorsement was a clear indication that the youths were aware of the need to continuously cement the bond of unity in the state.

However, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has declared that he will not abandon Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for partisan politics.

He insisted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has done well for the country as to warrant a second term for President Muhamnadu Buhari

Kachikwu, who addressed journalists after commissioning the Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) Secretariat yesterday in Asaba, before its sensitisation tour, expressed gratitude to leaders of the group.

Meanwhile, the governorship ambition of Adamawa State Governor Muhammed Jibrilla Bindow has suffered a huge set back, as 10 gubernatorial candidates that endorsed him during his campaign rally have withdrawn their support for him.

Bindow is also facing certificate scandal charges at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Public Relations Officer of Adamawa State chapter of New Generation Governorship Forum (NGGF), Simon Bawa, and Treasurer, Lami Musa in a joint statement yesterday in Yola, stated that the decision to withdraw their endorsement became necessary since Bindow failed to obey forum’s directives.
