Jonathan, Wike shun PDP’s mega guber rally in Bayelsa
Former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, were Wednesday absent at the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) mega rally for the Bayelsa gubernatorial election campaign.
The Nigerian ex-leader has refused to join the campaign train in the state since the controversial primary that produced Senator Douye Diri, an ally of Governor Seriake Dickson, for the November 16,2019 poll.
On the other hand, Wike and a strong member of the PDP is at loggerheads with his Bayelsa colleague over his alleged ill treatment of ex-President Jonathan.
At the rally which witnessed an appreciative crowd in Yenagoa, the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, charged President Muhammadu Buhari and his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on governance.
The state chief executives who graced the event are Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto); Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta); Bala Mohammed (Bauchi); Seyi Makinde (Oyo); Emeka Ihedioha (Imo); while the governors of Ebonyi and Benue were represented by their deputies.
Other key party stalwarts at the campaign were Mr. Peter Obi; Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe; Senator Adolphus Wabara, among others.
