PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari yesterday hosted his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in the Presidential Villa Abuja.

The meeting between the two leaders took place behind closed doors at the new banquet hall, though details of their discussions were not immediately known.

Clad in his traditional Niger Delta dress, with bowler hat to match, the former President’s visit came barely days after he returned from Tanzania where he led the Commonwealth Observation Group to monitor the presidential elections in that country.

Jonathan, who was accompanied by his Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, Dr. Dudaffah, arrived at exactly 2.00 p.m. chauffeur-driven in a Range Rover with a Prado Jeep back up. And by exactly 10 minutes later, at 2.10 p.m., he emerged from the meeting with Buhari, with the latter accompanying him to his waiting van.

None of the two leaders spoke to the media before Jonathan’s car zoomed off.

Though he may not be the best, but he should have taking us out from this bondage of dependent on the west, and make us self sufficient. we failed to see the hand writing on the wall, now we are thrown back into a cage where it will only take intervention of almighty God to savage us. I pray that, God comes quicker to save Nigeria from the mistake we made so that we may not have to suffer more than four 4yrs.

You’ll “Suffer” more than 4 years…as the mandate the Nigerian people gave to turn things around is permanent. So help us God

A typical of APC spokesman who will never make a constructive comment without going down to insult people, sorry your comment shows the real new Nigeria you are. I also say sorry to you because I am a Christian they thought us not to insult or curse anybody nor matter how small brain like you he may have, for those words are God’s instrument. God says curse be unto that man that curses. is your choice. God bless you.

  • Actually, it doesn’t matter to Nigerians how many times the former President visits the current President. It doesn’t in the least matter to Nigerians what the former President is discussing with the current President. If they like, they can recount and compare statistic of many herds of cattle the current President has in his farm in Kaduna or how many fishes the
former President has in his fish farm in Otuoke. Or if the former President has forgotten his contact glasses in the State House, I am sure the current President would be honest enough to return it with thanks.

All Nigerians are concerned now is for the current President not to take his booth off the pedals in the anti-corruption campaign. Any attempt to prevaricate or pussy-footing would be met with strong resistance by the mass of Nigerians who have placed their trust in his hands. It will be the greatest disservice and abuse of trust if this opportunity to turn things round is squandered. As long as the visits are not clandestine with sinister undertone the former President can visit whenever
    he likes.

He probably went to give him an update on his trip to Tanzania – 10 minutes is not a long time to discuss anything..probably a courtesy call to say “I am back, our excellency from …..” and he would have responded “Thank you, your excellency” and then he escorted him out to his car.
