Three suspects from Zamfara State and two from Kebbi were sentenced three months to two years.
The convictions were part of the determination of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, to stamp out corruption and other forms of examination malpractice.
In a statement yesterday by JAMB Public Relations Officer (PRO), Fabian Benjamin, “the four decade examination body is not joking in her avowed commitment to put behind bars the unscrupulous elements that are trying to circumvent the process of conducting credible examinations in line with best global practices.”
With these convictions, the board seems to have put an end to lip service in the fight against examination malpractice.
