Ishaku decries postponement
Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, yesterday, expressed disappointment over the postponement.
In a statement in Jalingo, yesterday, by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu, he said: “If INEC had gone ahead with the elections as scheduled, many voters in Taraba State would have been denied the opportunity to vote.
“There was late arrival of materials and other problems of logistics, which the commission’s staff had no solution to.”
The postponement, as observed by him, had “taken a huge toll on the resources of our party, its members and supporters who travelled. .”
He said PDP would still triumph at the end of the exercise.
He appealed to Tarabans to take “this ugly and unexpected development in good faith and to remain calm, while INEC battles to put its house in order.”
