Ishaku decries drug abuse among youths
Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku has raised alarm over high rate of drug abuse among youths in the state.
The situation has made the governor to support a non-governmental organisation with N100m for establishment of a rehabilitation centre to cater for victims of drug and substance abuse.
Commending his wife, Mrs. Anna Ishaku for being at the forefront of the crusade against illegal substances through her Hope Afresh Foundation, Ishaku said government would continue to support any organisation that has the people’s interest at heart.
The Governor, who made this known, yesterday, at the foundation-laying ceremony of the rehabilitation centre in Jalingo, the state capital, promised to work with the NGO and other relevant agencies to fight drug abuse.
