Imo State COVID -19 Prevention Committee has expressed worry over the influx of persons from other states into the state without observing the laid down infectious disease law protocol, stressing that such would lead to an increase of cases.

Imo currently has two confirmed cases of COVID -19. Member of the committee, Success Prosper, expressed disgust over the scenario in a meeting with the Imo State Market Association, urging states involved to respect the relevant laws and orders of the state. He reminded them that anyone caught would be made to face the consequences, noting that only vehicles conveying foodstuffs and persons on essential duties are authorized to come into the state.

Prosper urged traders and buyers to observe health protocols. Chairman of the association, Jonathan Odikanwa, said they’ve been up and done in enforcing the protocols in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
