Activities to mark the 70th birthday celebration of multiple awards winning music icon, Chief Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade or KSA, continued at the weekend when Ikoyi Club 1938 hosted the celebrated musician to a fabulous KSA Nite.

Beaming with smiles, Sunny Ade said his birthday celebration this year was remarkably different from previous years. Whereas he was used to a one-week festivity, which normally began on the day he was born, September 22 till the end of that week, the merriment this year has spanned four months, beginning from September 1, when the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, hosted a special session of prayers for him.

Laughing and cracking jokes throughout the night, he treated members of the club to good music and entertainment, and thanked Ikoyi Club 1938 for always showing him love and support. He said his fans should expect two or three albums from him to celebrate his attainment of becoming a septuagenarian.

The event had in attendance the Club Chairman, Major Gen. Mufutau Balogun (rtd.), Vice Chairman, Mr. Olusola Adeosun, Secretary, Mr. Tokunbo Ogundipe, other members of the General Committee and esteemed club members.

The Entertainment Chairman, Mr. Toyin Leo-Olagbaiye, while giving his welcome address, appreciated King Sunny Ade for honoring the club’s invitation and making out time for the event despite his busy schedule.

The club has outlined some activities to commemorate the Yuletide, which are: Children’s Christmas party on Saturday, December 17, at the Club Lawn at noon; Christmas carol on Sunday, December 18 at 5:00p.m.; and Christmas dance on Friday, December 23 at the main bar at 7:00p.m.
