Residents of Odumade/Sholumade Phase 2 Community Development Association (CDA), Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State have cried out to the state government to take development to the grassroots.

Speaking at the inaugural/New Year prayer meeting of the newly elected executive members of the CDA, which took place at the weekend, the newly elected CDA chairman, Mr. Femi Adelaja, lamented the deplorable state of Igbogbo-Bayeku road and pleaded with the LCDA to fulfill its promise of providing a transformer for the community.

Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Sholumade/Odumade Hijra Community Central Mosque, Macaulay, Jamiu Oshodi, urged electricity distribution company in the area to end load shedding by providing prepaid meters for residents. He described the community as one of the fastest-growing communities in the whole of Ikorodu and urged residents to dwell in love with one another.

While praying for the peace of the community, Reverend Abayomi Owoyele of Christ Our Life Gospel Mission, admonished the newly elected executive members to work in harmony, forget religious, ethnicity and socio-cultural bias and forge ahead to build a virile community.

In his own address, the immediate past chairman of the CDA, Mr. Adeleke Taiwo, solicited the support of residents towards the smooth running of the new administration.

Present at the occasion were the Baale of Ilado community, Chief Sarafadeen Tijani, Mr. Henry Awokunle (CDA General Secretary) and the Transition Committee Chairman, Mr. Henry Ohanugo, among others.
