Igboetiti: Ugwuanyi does not need endorsement for second tenure
The people of Igboetiti local government council, Enugu state have said that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi would not seek endorsement from anybody for his second term bid, saying his works will speak for him.
They therefore set aside today to celebrate the governor, stressing that all should emulate his leadership style in the face of the prevailing economic recession in the country.
Addressing newsmen in Enugu, Coordinator of the event, Prof Fred Nwodo and the Secretary, Prof Simeon Ortuanya, said that the people of the area would also use the occasion to form a socio-political group, Gburugburu Movement, to intensify their support for the governor.
Nwodo expressed delight that the governor has in the last two years, managed the lean resources accruing to the state very prudently just like he has equitably distributed amenities in the state.
Nwodo, who disclosed that Ugwuanyi was building new hospitals in the state, also said that the governor has concluded plans to site a mobile police barracks along the Nike-Opi Road leading to Nsukka, to beef up security on that axis.
Nwodo noted that the defection of the former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Eugene Odoh, who hails from Igbo-Etiti to the All Progressives Congress (APC) recently, would not affect the support their people have for Governor Ugwuanyi.
