‘If Buhari doesn’t perform, stone us’

AMID anxiety in the land over the state of the nation, former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh, says President Muhammadu Buhari was capable of tackling headlong the myriad of problems confronting Nigeria, adding that he remained the only President since independence who diligently sought the office and got it.

Momoh, who spoke in Auchi, Etsako West Local Council of Edo, stressed that the agitations notwithstanding, the South East geo-political zone stood to be the biggest beneficiary of the current administration.

The Auchi prince thundered: “At the end of the day if Buhari doesn’t perform, stone us because he is going to perform.”

The former minister, who is also a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) went memory lane, saying:

“He is the only one who came since independence to be president of Nigeria and succeeded. No other one. Tafawa Balewa wanted to be a broadcaster, he became prime minister. Shehu Shagari wanted to become a senator, he became president.

Obasanjo was in prison praying to be released. At the end of the day, he became president. Late Yar ‘Adua wanted to retire to lecture in Ahmadu Bello University, he later became president. Jonathan was taken from Bayelsa to Abuja and made Vice President and later became acting president and president.

Buhari went into politics and wanted to be president, 2003, he failed, 2007 he failed, 2011 he failed and 2015 he succeeded.

Will you be there when the first stone is cast? Just promise he will do better than what it took GEJ 6 years to do on 4 years.

    SO WHAT???

MR JOKER, MOMOH, THEN GET READY FOR STONING SOONER THAN LATER.

With this performance and stoning statement, Mr. Momoh has convinced me that I have overrated him all along. Two factors work against Buhari. His ability to deliver measurable dividends that touch the people the most depends on availability of funds. The nation still relies largely on oil, and nothing but depressing news is coming out of the oil market. Second, Buhari, like majority of his predecessors, is not equipped with the quality of talent that can unleash the many alternative potentials that are available. He doesn’t need the wisdom of Solomon, though, to lead, but he should be wise enough to assemble a competent team of lieutenants to help him. Beside just a few, majority of his cabinet members are mediocre. His ability to deliver depends on the quality of his team. Given this scenario, Mr. Momoh should have been more circumspect in his assertion.

How are we going to stone you people when you people are already telling us that Buhari has performed beyond GEJ 6 years. Fake individuals

What is performance? Is Buhari not already performing with no fuel, fuel will sell at #97,even #85 no, now to sell at #86.50 per litre; #270 to $1, 2000 university staff school teachers to go from 2016, toll gate to be reintroduced, electricity tariff increased, work on Lagos-Ibadan express way suspended, Benin-Ore road suspended, etc. Buhari is already performing. What else?

Where will you be in the day of stoning Mr Momoh? Some of you think that all Nigerians are fools.

If PMB really means to turn around Nigeria he must be ready to implement the National conference report. He must make sure he deregulate the oil and gas sector .He must legalize all the supposedly illegal refinery to compliment the legal ones that are not functioning to eliminate the CABALS. It seems to me that this country is back to as usual retrogressive ways
