The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is to prosecute vice-chancellors guilty of mobilizing unqualified candidates for the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

Chairman of the commission, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, made the disclosure in response to the request by the scheme’s Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, during a courtesy visit to ICPC headquarters in Abuja.

The host promised his visitor a prompt action once a case of fake mobilisation is reported and investigated.

“We are ready to prosecute any university vice-chancellor who mobilises those that should not go for the scheme if you send them to us,” he promised.
