Former Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa on Monday said he would contest for presidency on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.

Though 2019 presidential elections are still more than two years away, former Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State,  has already declared his interest to contest  presidency on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Lamido made this known on Monday to newsmen in his village, Bamaina

He, however, said a party’s ticket was not given to anybody on the platter of gold, adding that a candidate must earn it.

“If my party finds me worthy of the party’s presidential ticket to serve Nigeria, I will thank God and oblige.

“Although there are issues in the party that we are all working to resolve, we hope to have success soon and come out united.

The former governor held that the internal crisis in PDP was the reason for its defeat in 2015 general elections and that the party was working to bring back those who left the party before the last presidential elections.

“As I’m talking to you now, we are working silently to resolve our differences and bring back to our fold those that left the party for APC”, he said.

He said that the party had the capacity to rule the country again but the members must work hard to achieve that.

Lamido denied any rift between him and his successor, Gov. Muhammad Badaru of APC.

He stated that both of them had mutual respect for each other and he had no differences with him other than political ideologies.

Besides, not all critics of the septuagenarian are Igbos. Even reasonable Yorubas are expressing concerns in secret.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. I do not depend on this crumbled economy to survive.

And who told Lamido that Nigerian voters will ever vote for Poverty Distribution Party (PDP) in 2019?

If PDP had done the right thing in the last 16 years they were in power Nigeria and the Nigerian economy would be in a better shape today.

If PDP had the courage to build refineries needed to refine locally, the pressure of Naira today will not be an issue. The Billion $$$ needed yearly to import refined petroleum products will be saved.

PDP again. Forget it. You will not be President of this country. PMB will do two complete terms . PDP will not smell the Presidency until the Country is fully redeemed. APC may indeed rule this country for 60 years. By the time we start reaping the fruits of this government, nobody, will remember PDP.
