Hospitality and tourism experts have urged those aspiring to join the sector to be innovative and deliver superior service to their clients under any circumstance.

The practitioners spoke on Wednesday in Abuja, at a one-day bi-annual hospitality workshop.

The event: “Hospitality workshop Africa 2016,” was organised by the Swiss Education Group and supported by The Guardian.

They counselled interested members of the public to start the business in a manageable way and expand gradually, instead of allowing the lack of huge capital to delay them.

The Chief Executive Officer of Food Fashion Fusion, Mrs. Nkem Odewunmi, explained that food preparation and presentation had evolved into an art form.

According to her, the key elements for running a successful business include current information, working with a well- trained team and knowing your market and clients.

She added that consistency and collaboration with others were other requirements.

Also, the Managing Director of No Surprise Events, Funmi Victor-Okigbo, advised potential hospitality and tourism specialists to have unique selling points and develop the competence to stay relevant in the industry.

The workshop focused on exploring the opportunities in the industry as an alternative to the regular educational training.

It was also aimed at encouraging young people to pursue studies and careers in the hospitality and tourism field.
