As Hoodlums Attack his Office, Injured Supporters
It Is Sheer Blackmail – Governor

Gunmen yesterday invaded the campaign office of the human rights activist and senator representing Kaduna Central District, Shehu Sani, during a meeting of his supporters.

The attack, which caught the supporters unaware, left sour tales in their mouth, as many of them were wounded, while others lost some valuables, including handsets to the invaders.

Senior Special Adviser (Political and Ideology) to Senator Sani, Comrade Suleiman Ahmed said the attack was the continuation of earlier attacks on the family house of the lawmaker at Tudun Wada, Kaduna.

He said the information gathered from the victims of the attack indicated that the hoodlums must have been on the move to complete “the plot, which started inside Kaduna State Government House three days earlier.”

According to Comrade Ahmed: “They are just jealous of senator’s political achievement. But then, that will not deter the senator from listening to the people and put their interest above the party or personal interest.”

“They started on Friday. They laid siege to the senator’s family house on Friday before the police came and dispatched them, using teargas. This Saturday (yesterday) afternoon again, they attacked his constituency office around stadium roundabout. I was informed that the attackers, who were armed, stormed the office, where some people were having meeting and destroyed what they could and collected their phones and all that. We have called the police to put the situation under control.”

Police Spokesman in the State, ASP Usman Aliyu could not but reached, as his phone was switched off. However, a detachment of armed policemen has taken over the constituency office of the lawmaker, as they kept vigil there.

Political Adviser to the Governor, Mallam Ubah Sani denied the involvement of  the state government in the attack, saying that anyone who linked officials of the state government to it was just indulging in blackmail.

“Let anyone come out and tell the world whether he saw any government official at the scene. People are just trying to blackmail the state government,” he said.

The Senator, who had just returned from a foreign trip confirmed the attack on his constituency office, saying  “Some minutes ago I received a report that some heavily armed thugs raided and attacked my office located at Stadium Roundabout by Constitution Road, Kaduna. They unleashed terror on members of my social media team who were meeting in the office. They vandalized the office in their violent act.

“We have the lead and the information that thugs were fully recruited and paid by political appointees of Governor Nasiru El-Rufai. We have the names of the political appointees and we have the names of those they are funding. Right now their details have been given to the Department of State Security and the police for investigation.

“Two days ago attempt to burn down my family house in Alkalawa Road, Tudun Wada Kaduna by sponsored thugs, was thwarted by vigilant residents and neighbours. This led to the brief deployment of policemen in the area.

“I wish to state it categorically clear, that I hold Governor Nasiru El-Rufai personally responsible for whatever happens to me or any of my family members or supporters.”

El Rufai is no longer the promising Nigerian that Atiku recommended to Obasanjo. There is an underlining bitterness about him despite what the Nigeria commonwealth has given disproportionately to him, considering we are over 200million. Rufai is paying the Nigerian gift with selective hatred. History abound with such tales
