HICC donates to Benue flood victims, kickoff 2017 conference

The Harvesters Christian Centre (HICC), Gbagada, Lagos has donated cash, foods and clothes to victims of flooding in Benue.The Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr. Boniface Ortese, disclosed recently that more than 110,000 persons in 24 communities, including Makurdi were displaced and over 2,769 households were also affected.

Speaking on why the church must stand by the affected persons, the senior pastor of the church, Bolaji Idowu who describe reaching out to the people as an investment, said, “Serving God is an investment, an investment with tangible rewards; it’s like investing in treasury bill, painful when you are doing it privately, look as if you do not understand things to do with your money; you look the same way when others are shining but you forget the pain when it mature and the share value moves from N5 to N50 .

The pastor who promised that the church will continue to support the victims, said, “the more God use you, you become use-full, and the less God uses you, you become use-less so, God did not ask us to be complete before he could use usThe church will on Tuesday September 26, 2017 begin its single and marriage conference at the church headquarters, Gbagada, Lagos.

Speaking on the conference for married, single, divorced and people in relationship, starting from September 26 to 30 and October 1, tagged Unbroken, the senior pastor of the church, Bolaji Idowu, said “the truth is that in our world today, marriage walls and marriage value is beginning to fall apart.

As a pastor, I have come across so many stories of people including Christians having troubles in their marriage, couples you think are compassionately in love and thrive in their marital life; suddenly their marriage hits the rock. Often time, I come across single ladies whose lives is turned upside down because of certain heart break she has experienced or a man that doesn’t believe in love any longer because he think all girls want is his money, and that is the purpose of this special single and marriage conference having.

A record of divorce obtained from an FCT High Court showed that 24 divorce cases were filed from January to March in that court alone.
Guest speaker at this year conference are; Pastor Taiwo Odukoya; founder and president of Heart Wing Ministries, MichelleMckmey Hammon, Femi Oduwole and Nigerian gospel artiste BeeJay Sax.
