Hajj commission inaugurates aviation monitoring committee
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has inaugurated the Aviation Monitoring Committee for the 2019 pilgrimage.
A statement issued yesterday by spokesman of the commission, Fatima Sanda Usara, revealed that among other duties, the team is expected to evaluate status of different airports from where Moslem pilgrims will be airlifted to Saudi Arabia.
While inaugurating the committee, Chief Executive 0fficer and Chairman of the commission, Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, told the members that their job was instrumental to the success of 2019 Hajj operation considering the fact that airlift comprises a large percentage of the operation.
He added that their role includes monitoring both inbound and outbound flights, ensuring compliance to airports rules, flight schedules by state pilgrims’ boards and airline operators.
