Gunmen kidnap Plateau monarch

Gunmen have kidnapped the traditional ruler of Long Dorok Chiefdom in Shendam Local Council of Plateau State, Mr. David Isa.

Former councillor in Dorok community, Leo Densak, who disclosed the abduction of the monarch to journalists in Jos yesterday, said that the gunmen, numbering over 10, stormed the monarch’s house on Monday at about 9.00 p.m. and whisked him away.

Spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Mathias Terna Tyopev, who confirmed the incident, said: “After the receipt of the information, the command immediately formed a search and rescue team which is working assiduously to rescue the paramount ruler unhurt.”
