Gunmen kidnap Ondo ADC chairman, four others

Gunmen have kidnapped the Ondo State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Bisi Ogungbemi, alongside four other persons in his entourage. The Guardian learnt that Ogungbemi and the four other chieftains of the party were abducted along Oba Akoko/Owo road on their way from Ikare-Akoko to Akure.

The Guardian learnt that Ogungbemi and the four other chieftains of the party were abducted along Oba Akoko/Owo road on their way from Ikare-Akoko to Akure.

A source in the family, who said the kidnappers had not contacted the relatives of the victims at press time, added that the incident happened around 7pm on Wednesday. Others abducted Ogungbemi’s Special Assistant, Mr. Jide Ipinsagba; his driver, Mr. Boye Oletuyise; and Princess Jumoke Abdulkareem. Oletuyise was later released by the kidnappers on Wednesday evening,The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph confirmed the incident.
