The joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities  (JONAPWD) has written the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation  (NNPC) on the missing column for people with disability on the NNPC employment website.

The joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities  (JONAPWD) has written the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation  (NNPC) on the missing column for people with disability on the NNPC employment website.

In a letter dated May 2, 2019 and signed by the acting president, Abdullahi Aliu, they drew the attention of the management of NNPC to the missing column on its site, noting that the corporation did not make provisions for person with disabilities, initimating them of the recently signed Nigerian Disability Law that “all public organisations are to reserve at least five percent of employment opportunities for those with disabilities”.

The group further informed NNPC that JONAPWD is the umbrella body of all associations of Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) and civil society organisations working in disability issues in Nigeria recognised by governments at all levels. JONAPWD called on the corporation to call for a meeting with them to see how they could resolve the issue.
