THE people of Bauchi State have been urged to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate from Katagun zone in the forthcoming governorship election in the spirit of justice, equity, geo-political balancing and prosperity.

shettima 1THE people of Bauchi State have been urged to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate from Katagun zone in the forthcoming governorship election in the spirit of justice, equity, geo-political balancing and prosperity.

The urged was made yesterday in a statement by a group on the aegis of Bauchi State Unity Forum, signed by its Secretary, Auwal Shehu Ahmad and made available to journalists in Jos.

The group said: “We feel duty-bound as sons and daughters of Bauchi State who have traversed national and international boundaries to speak out against a major injustice; an act of geo-political atrophy and travesty that is looming in our state, and threatens to plunge the entire state into a precipitate crisis of humongous dimensions.

The group, which called on the good people of Bauchi State to understand and appreciate why they all have to vote for the PDP in the forthcoming gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections, said: “Voting for the PDP is the only option that will bring about peace, equity, geo-political balancing, prosperity, and fulfilment to all the people and sections of Bauchi State. All well-meaning people of Bauchi State have agreed and desired that the position of governor moves to Katagum zone in the spirit of power rotation after sixteen (16) years.”

The statement further said that while Adamu Mu’azu had governed the state between 1999 and 2007, Governor Isa Yuguda 2007-2015, Senator Bala Mohammed from the same Bauchi Zone had been occupying the state ministerial slot in the Goodluck Jonathan Administration since 2011.”

“As it is, Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu has grown in political stature, and is now the National Chairman of the PDP. You will agree that the people of Katagum also deserve to be carried along and given some sense of pride, identity and belonging.

“For the sake and imperative of unity, equity, and harmonious co-existence, Katagum zone deserves a fair chance this time around,” the statement added.
