Group flays Shettima’s statement on 2023 presidency

The Vanguard, a political interest group, has condemned a statement by the national president, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Yerima Shettima, on who becomes Nigeria’s president in 2023.
The Vanguard, a political interest group, has condemned a statement by the national president, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Yerima Shettima, on who becomes Nigeria’s president in 2023.
Addressing journalists in Lagos, the Public Relations Officer (PR)), Oyetayo Olusegun, quoted Shettima as saying in a recent interview that “Asiwaju (Bola Tinubu) is even the last person or option the North would consider.”
The group therefore advised Shettima and AYCF to stand aloof over the issue of who becomes Nigeria’s next president, as he had no political right to speak against Tinubu, or to decide for Northerners or Nigerians at large.
“We can’t accept such threat from Shettima because he is seeking Asiwaju’s attention, and won’t get it. “
