Lower Niger Congress (LNC) and its Movement for New Nigeria (MNN) Alliance Partners have pronounced as unfortunate President Muhammadu Buhari’s condescending haughtiness in describing protagonists of restructuring as lazy and clueless.

Buhari, while addressing Nigerians resident in France on the sidelines of the World Peace Forum in Paris recently, said there are too many people talking lazily about restructuring in Nigeria, with no definition of what they meant by it and the form it should take.

But in a statement, Tony Nnadi of LNC and its partners said the president was economical with truth, because he had been engaged in the past on what restructuring is by Pro-National Conference Organisations (PRONACO), when Buhari wanted the group’s support for his presidential quest in 2007.

LNC also said there are drafts from conferences aimed at providing basis for restructuring, which can be accessed by leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group called for postponement of 2019 elections, saying “With every sense of responsibility, and as already being campaigned by LNC and it’s MNN Alliance Partners, it is our conviction that the situation calls for a public acknowledgement by the President, that the 1999 Constitution is the source of Nigeria and Nigerians’ misery.

“This should be accompanied by a formal announcement deferring 2019 elections, as well as the immediate initiation of a timeline transitioning process with the balance of your tenure along the paradigms outlined in this memorandum, in place of further national elections in 2019.
