Gombe govt partners FRSC on enlightenment, literacy, programme
GOMBE State government has planned to partner with the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to conduct literacy classes for drivers in its effort to reduce accidents in the state.
Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, who disclosed this in Gombe while interacting with the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of the FRSC, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, said it was part of his administration’s important goals to provide quality education while improving the living standards of the citizens.
Oyeyemi, who also spoke, commended the state government for a conducive working environment accorded the FRSC in the state, saying the state has been doing well in terms of ensuring uniform licence, number plates and constant provision of logistics, which he said, had assisted in ensuring successes recorded by the FRSC in the state.
He, however, called on the state government for its continued support to achieve some key important functions by providing secured office areas for the FRSC to establish more work-stations in strategically-located areas for licensing.
According to him, his visit to the state was to conduct awareness campaign on enhanced road safety, particularly during the Ember months.
