A TOTAL of 37 goals were scored in 13 matches played in the English Premier League, Spain Liga and German Bundesliga Saturday.

The German elite side, Mainz 05, recorded the highest goal of the day with a 5-0 thrashing of visiting Paderborn. Another German club, Freiburg, was 4-1 better than Eintraht Frankfurt, just as FC Cologne recorded a 2-0 away to Hamburger SV.

In England, Manchester United easily saw off bottom side Leicester with a 3-1 win to move up to third place in the Premier League table, just as Daniel Sturridge scored on his comeback from injury for Liverpool to make it five wins in six Premier League games with 2-0 victory over West Ham United.

Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham brought Tony Pulis’ unbeaten start as West Brom manager to an end with a 3-0 win away.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring after just six minutes with a brilliant free-kick, before Kane quickly doubled the lead.

The Spurs striker grabbed his second goal from the penalty spot for his 20th in all competitions this season.

Jonathan Walters struck a hat-trick for Stoke as QPR lost their 11th straight away game in the Premier League. It ended 3-1 for Stoke.

In Spain, Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 4-1.

And he doubled his side’s advantage, exchanging passes with Stephen Ireland to neatly finish from inside the area.

Niko Kranjcar pulled a goal back for QPR and Asmir Begovic superbly tipped Joey Barton’s free-kick on to the crossbar, before Walters’s.

Walters gave the hosts the lead by punishing poor defending, curling an effort into the bottom corner.
