Ganduje exempts judicial workers from stay-at-home order

Kano State government has declared the exemption of civil servants in the Judicial sector from the stay at home order.

In a statement released by Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, said judicial workers are considered exempted to enable the full cause of court proceedings and other legal matters in the state.

Garba noted that the decision was to afford a needless grid of administration of the justice system and prevent delay of the dispense of Justice.

“Government has viewed the need for the continued administration of justice, the staff of the judiciary very pertinent, hence the reason why the civil servants in the sector are now exempted from the sit at home order earlier announced on Tuesday, following an upsurge in COVID-19 cases.

“With this notice, all courts will continue to serve justice in the society, while lawyers and law firms will continue to provide services for their clients”.

The statement, however, pointed out that in line with public health advice, the state Task Force on COVID-19 has asked all judicial staff to obey laid down protocols to the latter in the interest of public safety.

A similar exemption was issued by the ministry of education directing all public and private schools should proceed with the normal academic session.
