Funke Akindele preaches peace in 2019 elections
Popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, has urged Nigerians to stay away from violence in the coming election
“Provocation is the cause of major violence in elections in Nigeria. Don’t be provoked. Avoid provoking others. Respect everyone. Treat others the way you want to be treated,” Akindele-Bello said.
Let’s make 2019 elections safe, secure and credible,” she added.
Bello’s comment is coming three days to the general election. The presidential election is slated to hold on Saturday.
The incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is facing a stiff challenge from former vice president Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has assured Nigerians that it has put all measures in place to conduct a free and fair election.
91 political parties will be taking part in the general elections which will take place in 120,000 locations in the country.
