Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the deployment of 35,000 personnel, both regular and special marshals, to ensure free flow of traffic on major highways across the country.

This is to improve safe vehicular movement and mitigate crashes before, during and after the Easter celebration.

According to FRSC spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, over 200 mobile courts are also in place.

Kazeem maintained that the proactive Patrol and Rescue Operations from April 18 to 23 would cover 52 corridors across the federation.

However, Good Friday, April 19, and Easter Monday, April 22, have been declared public holidays to mark the Easter.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mrs. Georgina Ehuriah, announced this in a statement yesterday in Abuja quoting the minister, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd.).
