FRSC advises job seekers to disregard fake recruitment adverts
The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has urged the general public to disregard the ongoing call for recruitment by the agency through a fake Facebook page.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Imoh Etuk, the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), on Wednesday and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Abuja.
According to the statement, the attention of the commission has been drawn to the activities of scammers who created a fake recruitment page to disguise as FRSC to extort money from desperate job seekers.
“The attention of FRSC has been drawn to ongoing activities of scammers who have created a fake recruitment facebook page.
“The page has the name of FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer in Abuja, Assistant Corps Marshal Jonas Agwu,in order to extort money from desperate job seekers to join the employ of the corps.
“The scammers also spelt out various categories as existing vacancies in the commission for Officer and Marshal cadres, ” it said.
It also said that the positions of Assistant Route Commanders, Superintendent Road Marshals and Road Marshals, were advertised on the fake site.
It said fake enquiry lines: 09035851615 and 08144488165, purporting same to have been authorised by the FRSC management were also placed on the site.
“The management of FRSC wishes to distance itself from this criminal act and advises the general public, especially job seekers, to disregard such mischievous publications.
“The general public should note that FRSC adopts genuine processes in conducting its recruitment exercise and publishes same through numerous platforms including national newspapers, Television and Radio stations,” the statement said.
It called on members of the general public to visit www.frsc.gov.ng, www.fb.com/federalroadsafetycorps and @FRSCNigeria, its website, Facebook and twitter addresses.
