THE structure is quite imposing. Adorned in a combination of milk-coloured and bottom-stripped oxblood pigment, the beautiful architectural masterpiece stands in the world of its own. That is the Iyaafin Bosede Olanipekun Special Amenity Ward donated to the Ekiti State Specialist Hospital, Ikere by the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) and his wife, Princess Omolara in memory of his late mother.

The governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose who commissioned the project poured encomium on the donor, whom he described as God’s gift to humanity as he was conducted round the structure.

The governor said: “You are operating like a government. What government cannot do, you are doing. God will help you because you have helped us. People dont get becuase they dont give. You are a pride to Nigeria and God will bless you. You are not God and not a politician, but you rescue politicians from dangerous moments.”

The obviously elated governor said his government would monitor the facilities and esnure that they remain evergreen and maintained, adding that he would emulate Olanipekun in doing similar thing for his parents. “I am going to copy you. Although I am not rich like you, but one day, I will do this for my mum and father. Thank you for adding value”, he quipped.

The donor, Chief Olanipekun said“ no man is ever remembered for the amount of money he accumulated in his life time.

“No man forgets his craddle. I am from Ikere. Every body knows that my mother was so special to me. I built a vicarage in memory of my father and this is for my beautiful mother’s memory”, he stated, adding that in the nearest future, the governor would be commissioning an ultra-modern diagnosis centre in the State.
