A magistrate’s court sitting in Osogbo yesterday remanded four men for allegedly killing a corps member, one Adebayo Mukaila, in Osun State.

The defendants, Jelili Kareem, aged 29, Oludayo Oludele, 34, Awodeji Muyiwa, 36 and 25-year-old Anifowose Buliaminu were said to have committed the offence on January 28, 2020, at the Omo West area of the capital city.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akintunde Jacob, told the court that Oludele, Muyiwa and Kareem robbed the corps member of vouchers worth N300,000 and N2,500 cash before killing him.

Buliaminu was accused of receiving the vouchers.

He pleaded not guilty to the count of unlawfully receiving stolen materials levelled against him by the police, while the pleas of the three other defendants were not taken.

His counsel, K.A Adepoju, prayed the court for bail, saying his client’s offence was bailable.

Magistrate Modupe Awodele thereafter ordered the remand of the trio in police custody and granted Biliaminu bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, adding that one of the sureties must be a civil servant.

The case was subsequently adjourned till July 13, 2020, for hearing.
