A non-governmental organization, Man of Peace Foundation, which aims to build good legacies and promote charitable deeds, has been launched in Lagos State.

Coordinator of the group, Kehinde Mafe, said the event was to commemorate the posthumous birthday of her late husband, Olaitan Sulaiman Mafe, who died on July 27, 2018 after a successful brain surgery in India.

She disclosed that a peace walk would hold on July 27, a year after his death, to honour the man fondly remembered as the man of peace, and to celebrate the great life he lived.

Other projects, according to her, will commence after the Peace Walk, targeting children, the aged, youths and indigent members of the society, “with the mission to deliver peace and plant the seed of love as much as it lies within our hands and hearts.”

Born on March 27, 1977 into a family of six, Olaitan in March last year, was diagnosed of a brain tumour case known as Craniopharyngioma.

He underwent a successful brain surgery in India and was recuperating well before he died nine days after the surgery in India. His body was buried at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos on August 3, 2018.
