The Ambsam Memorial Foundation has donated N3.5 million to the families who lost their loved ones to the March 2015 boat mishap along the Epe axis of Lagos State.

According to a member of the House of Representatives, Wale Raji, the foundation was established in memory of the victims.

He said: “We cannot continue to grieve. So we felt the only thing we can do to keep the memory of this young men is to establish this foundation and provide continued financial support to the families of the fallen heroes and also impact members of the community.”

Raji, who represents Epe Constituency and also a member of the foundation, said a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training centre would open in the community to immortalise the seven persons.

The foundation’s coordinator, Otunba Tajudeen Abass said: “The victims met their tragic death while on an assignment to monitor the 2015 presidential and national assembly election exercises conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He noted that ABSAM was an acronym for Adewale Olakunle; Mogaji Gbolahan; Bello Muheez; Salau Tunde; Agoro Shamuseen; Mogaji Wale and Muftau Penu who were the victims of the unfortunate incident.
